Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts are globally available starting today.
These accounts introduce additional reviews for games available to users younger than 16.
Chat remains disabled for users younger than 9, age-checks are required to chat, and parents can adjust standard chat settings for children until they turn 16.
Roblox Kids and Roblox Select launch globally today, aligning users’ access to games and features with their age. Users are automatically placed into the appropriate account for their age. Kids and Select users will find the vast majority of their favorite games, and discover new favorites amongst the tens of thousands of available games. In the U.S., available games include Driving Empire, Grow a Garden, and How to Train Your Dragon*. This global release follows our initial launch in Australia, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.
Roblox is built to grow with users, helping them gradually develop digital independence as they mature—while keeping parents informed and in control. That’s why Roblox Kids accounts have the strictest standard settings in place, including disabling chat, with controls for parents to adjust those settings if they choose. Roblox Select accounts grant older kids and younger teens access to slightly more mature content, and chat settings gradually unlock—with protections and parental controls still in place. As kids grow into teens, controls shift more to them, but parents can stay informed to help guide the decisions their teen is making online. Roblox accounts (meant for users 16 or older) require an age check, based on ID verification or secure Facial Age Estimation.
