Roblox Plus launches April 30, a new subscription available globally for $4.99 USD per month that includes discounts on in-game items and avatars, as well as exclusive platform benefits.
Roblox will cover the discounts, so creators continue to make the same amount per-item. Subscribers can spread the same number of Robux across more items, allowing creators to earn more.
Creators can also benefit from subscribers who use a game’s paid private server, and from implementing a new API that enables users to subscribe to Roblox Plus in-game.
Every day, 144 million users come to Roblox to play games, connect, and build.1 We’re constantly looking for new ways to deliver value to our most dedicated players while providing creators with more ways to scale their businesses.
Starting April 30, we’re introducing Roblox Plus, a new subscription designed for our most engaged users. Roblox Plus will be available globally for $4.99 USD per month. By providing exclusive platform benefits as well as discounts on in-game items and avatars, Roblox Plus enables users to stretch their Robux further while directly supporting the creators who make Roblox possible.

Roblox processes 274 million daily avatar updates, and that’s just one type of user-generated content that we moderate for safety violations.1
Player reports are a crucial part of identifying violations early, and we want to make it easy for players to report anything they see that they believe is inappropriate or against our policies.
Because violations in dynamic, user-generated 3D content can be challenging to capture, we leverage ray casting, data model cloning, and an overhauled reporting UI to help players identify and report specific objects with the data and visual evidence necessary for us to take action.
At peak, the Roblox platform processes 274 million daily avatar updates.1 Reporting and reviewing abuse in this type of dynamic, user-generated 3D content is challenging because it doesn’t always leave the explicit trail that static content like a text log or a social media post does. In this blog post, we describe our approach to capturing the data and visual context necessary to act on player reports, from our initial ray casting approach for identifying abusive avatars, to our current system, which integrates with the Roblox data model so that players can precisely report any 3D game object.
Player reports are a crucial part of identifying potential policy violations early, and we recently updated our reporting flow to make it easier for players to immediately report or block anything that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Player reports now result in the automatic removal of over 19,000 policy-violating avatars per month and serve as an important early signal for detecting inappropriate games.2

Roblox’s Facial Age Estimation system has processed 338 million age-check records to help Roblox users unlock age-appropriate chat and access age-appropriate games on the platform. The technology we use for facial age checks was selected because it’s been tested and certified by third-party labs and has proven to be more accurate than self-declared age. This initial age check is necessary, but age assurance doesn’t end at the selfie. Accounts could be shared or handed off to a younger sibling. Bad actors could attempt to probe our defenses. To move age assurance beyond a point-in-time signal, we built a high-throughput ML layer that evaluates whether an account’s ongoing behavior still matches its estimated age over time. Our feature-level modular design enables efficient model updates and rapid adaptation to shifting behavioral patterns.

Great games should be easy to find. With millions of games and 132 million daily active users on Roblox1, connecting players with games they’ll love—and giving creators the transparency they need to make good development decisions—is more important than ever.
That’s where Roblox’s discovery systems come in. Our Recommended For You algorithm surfaces relevant games on Roblox’s homepage based on objective metrics and each player’s unique preferences. When players come back to a game over time, bring their friends, and spend money, that’s strong evidence that the game is delivering a meaningful experience that more players are likely to enjoy too.

Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts are globally available starting today.
These accounts introduce additional reviews for games available to users younger than 16.
Chat remains disabled for users younger than 9, age-checks are required to chat, and parents can adjust standard chat settings for children until they turn 16.
Roblox Kids and Roblox Select launch globally today, aligning users’ access to games and features with their age. Users are automatically placed into the appropriate account for their age. Kids and Select users will find the vast majority of their favorite games, and discover new favorites amongst the tens of thousands of available games. In the U.S., available games include Driving Empire, Grow a Garden, and How to Train Your Dragon*. This global release follows our initial launch in Australia, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.
Roblox is built to grow with users, helping them gradually develop digital independence as they mature—while keeping parents informed and in control. That’s why Roblox Kids accounts have the strictest standard settings in place, including disabling chat, with controls for parents to adjust those settings if they choose. Roblox Select accounts grant older kids and younger teens access to slightly more mature content, and chat settings gradually unlock—with protections and parental controls still in place. As kids grow into teens, controls shift more to them, but parents can stay informed to help guide the decisions their teen is making online. Roblox accounts (meant for users 16 or older) require an age check, based on ID verification or secure Facial Age Estimation.
